A Healthy shout out to student-athletes making highlights…
Junior High Wrestling: For the first time in over a decade, Mt. Healthy has a junior high wrestler who will be going to state. Jodiyah Howard earned his place to State by being the champion in the 176 lbs weight class. Rashid Dewees, DeAngelo Boyd and Howard won SWOC championships.
8th Grade Basketball: The 8th grade boys basketball team won the regular season SWOC conference title and the tournament championship while going undefeated. This team accomplished the same feat last year as 7th graders.
Girls HS Basketball: Senior Gabrielle (Gabby) Barnett was voted to the Senior All-Star game for District 16. The game will be played March 21 at St. Bernard/Elmwood High School.
Signing Day: Two student-athletes signed their Letter of Intent to pursue their athletic careers in college. Nyla Houston will be running track at the University of District of Columbia. Ju’Aries Montgomery will be playing football at Alderson Broaddus University.
Bowling: Senior Kelsey George set two school records for bowling. She had a record single game high of 265, and set the two game series record with a 434 score.
